He is at it again! I am really impressed with this guy's musicality. Jason Mraz is certainly one unpredictable musician. Just when you thought that he has already made all the wordplays he can think of, Jason is out with a lot more words to get your tongues twisted - mixed with all the praapapaa-dum-dum and oooohhhs that he can ever manage!

Jason's new album is certainly worth getting. We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things it is called (see album cover at the side). Any authentic fan will not miss this, featuring collaborations with artists such as Colbie Caillat and James Morrison. The long released single I'm Yours is also in this album.

I am afraid that I am a bit behind everybody else on this one - well, almost everybody else. Just recently, I was able to finish the entire first season of NBC's popular series called Prison Break. Owing to my being a fan of Heroes, I was very hesitant to watch Prison Break at first, thinking that nothing could equal my favorite TV series. But then, something happened. I watched Prison Break. I have to admit, the first episode I saw was the fourth, or maybe the fifth (the one where there was a riot in Fox River). And, lo and behold, I couldn't find the energy to leave me seat in the living room, even just to take a leak! I watched it, and I liked it.
What made me like it? Well, it's the suspense that is not dragging; it is the intricately woven story line that carries everything forward (and leaves the viewers always asking for more); it is the fancy characterizations of the people in jail; it is the brilliance of Michael Scofield; it is the weirdness of T-bag, coupled with his vulgar wit and humor. In short, it is everything that there is in the series that I liked. While it may be true that Heroes also has these elements, Prison Break contains them in its own special flavor. In any case, there is certainly something about Prison Break that simply blew my mind and left me suspending my disbelief longer than any other TV series has done (but excluding, of course, Heroes).
I give Prison Break a 5.5 out of 5!

And so I've seen it. Due to demands of friendship, I was obliged to watch a play in school, which was an adaptation of a stage play by Oscar Wilde. Besides, it was free, so why not?

In any case, I'd have to say that there was nothing spectacular or extraordinary about it. The plot was quite predictable, and, needless to say, it reminds you of the thousand and one telenovelas that you have seen -- those that have such radical twists where the hero ends up to be a relative of the villain, who is a relative of the heroine, who also happens to be a relative of the hero, and a first cousin at that! Here though, strangely enough, it differs from the telenovela endings. Rather than ending up being bitter for the rest of their lives --unless their relation was to be proven false by yet another more radical twist-- the hero and the heroine end up together, inspite of being first cousins! Now how EARNEST can you get??

I am not at all challenging the artistic license of Oscar Wilde, for i have not read the original script nor have I seen it staged. But the detail about first cousins ending up marrying each other strikes me as the most unearnest thing in the play that purports to give importance to what is earnest (not to mention the rather amorous attitude of the chaplain, named Dr. Chausuble, if I got it right). Perhaps it would be good for those who have watched to examine a little the background of Oscar Wilde --assuming that the Kultura play is faithful to the original script, if not, well, that's a different story. Think about it.

At any rate, I was amused by the humour of the play. It is safe to say, perhaps, that it was not really a bad play, but it still could be improved. I think I'll stop here. I hope I have succeeded in giving the play an earnest assessment.
